Westpac Points Pod

The Brief

Res Publica was retained by Westpac to promote their new Altitude credit card and to demonstrate how many extra points people could gain by using this card compared to the competition.

Res Publica briefed Fourth Wall Events to create an accessible, interactive, reusable exhibition stand that raises people's awareness of the new Altitude credit card and encouraged them to apply for one.

The Approach

Res Publica and Fourth Wall Events decided on the approach of going straight to those that value these points the most - frequent flyers. So a space inside the Qantas Club, Sydney, was leased and a 'Points Pod' stand created.

The Points Pod is where customers could find our how many points they currently had with their existing credit cards and where those points would take them. They would then be able to compare where they could have got to if they owned an Altitude card.

Fourth Wall Events designed the stand to incorporate the pods and make it highly approachable, accessible and tactile for the public to use. All branding focused on the question 'where do you want to go?' and was subtly supported with Westpac co-branding.

The Results

The Point Pod stand generated significant uptake of the Altitude credit card. Westpac now also have a reusable asset that they can use to champion the brand.
