SBS
The Brief
Fourth Wall Events have produced numerous season launches for SBS. These are not only to create buzz and excitement amongst the industry but also enable the SBS executives and their marketing teams to network and mingle with media buyers, partners and affiliates and most importantly sponsors.
In 2010 Fourth Wall Events also launched their World Cup Soccer Coverage.
The Approach
As one of the main programs was Top Gear, Fourth Wall Events created an event in a vintage car showroom just near the Sydney Harbour Bridge on Sydney’s lower North Shore. This space had never been used before and so Fourth Wall Events designed a make-over that included hanging a larger than life screen to showcase the season, through to a theatrical reveal of Top Gear star ‘The Stig’ and the presenters. This clearly set SBS apart from other channels and highlighted what was to become the star of their season.
For the launch of the 2010 World Cup Soccer coverage Fourth Wall Events brought in a South African choir, traditional dancers and soccer tricksters who kicked the balls over everyone’s heads to move the action between the four satellite stages. This was a dynamic and highly theatrical launch that brought life to the very experiences the guests were about to watch.
The Results
The SBS launches had an Australian tone to them whilst showcasing the stars and content from around the world, this matched perfectly the SBS ethos and values.
