So You Think You Can Dance

The Brief

Fremantle Media Australia engaged Fourth Wall Events to deliver the production for the number one rating dance show in the country. The show was adapted from the international show to reflect the Australian look and feel created by the producers, in the first year the entire project was delivered within four weeks.

The Approach

The highly complicated and detailed design needed to work for not only the viewers and the camera, but also for the audience who are a part of the set and the dancers who are the stars of the show. Cameras were built into the set and every angle had to be established and agreed to during the pre-production phase to ensure they were perfect for television, the set had to retain its gloss while being functional for dancers and most importantly all the elements had to last for the many months of filming.

To install and remove the set and infra-structure was a highly complicated process as each element followed specific sequences and plans to bring the intricate design to life.

The Results

So You Think You Can Dance has brought dancing to the forefront of people’s minds and the show has become a household name and attracts a huge number of viewers every season.

Fourth Wall Events continue to be retained to deliver the production and have developed a strong working relationship with Fremantle Media.
