Mardi Gras Fair Day

The Brief

New Mardi Gras looked to Fourth Wall Events to produce one of their largest outdoor events – Fair Day, which also launched the Mardi Gras Festival season. Staged in the high profile location outside The University of Sydney – Victoria Park, this event attracts over twenty thousand revellers of all different age groups.

The direction taken by New Mardi Gras wanted to ensure a premium delivery of each event, professionally managed and delivering an experience that surpasses the ticket price.

The Approach

Creating a festival day that appeals to a very wide audience is challenging, doing so in such a public space means every aspect has to be well thought out and planned to perfection.

Fourth Wall Events created numerous stages that would appeal to different audiences, matched with roving entertainment and fun activities for all. These included everything from rides to farm animals to sustainable homes and City of Sydney information outlets, all designed to create easy flow between areas, highlighted with colourful signage and decor and various relaxation areas.

Fourth Wall Events managed the police, security and all infrastructure requirements for the day. These includes power, toilets, water, staging and technical systems, waste and complete site management and planning. Through their detail CAD and operational planning systems nothing was left to chance and the event was installed, run and removed perfectly.

The Results

Over the ten hours guests enjoyed an amazing party, with acts from across Australia creating non-stop entertainment. They dined on international culinary delights, danced to the great music and celebrated with their friends making the day a must attend in Sydney and celebrated everything that is New Mardi Gras.

The event was delivered without incident and all stakeholders enjoyed a professional and smooth planning and operational process.
