AWARD Awards
The Brief
AWARD Awards is the largest advertising industry awards in Australasia, judging all formats used to engage with consumers in advertising and Fourth Wall Events have produced the awards for 3 years.
The brief in the first year was to turn AWARD into the most prestigious industry night that seamlessly integrates all the mediums of advertising, and then retain this is future years.
The Approach
To begin to fulfill the brief, Fourth Wall Events initiated a raft of dramatic changes, including changing the format to a theatre style live music event; the Sydney Opera House was chosen as the venue to increase participation from international guests and take the event to a new level for Australian guests and the actual delivery of the 170 plus awards was also reviewed and tightened.
This change in format allowed a fast-paced modern show, backed by a live orchestra, which added to the excitement and put the focus back on the awards. For the first time in over 10 years the Awards actually championed the work itself.
Fourth Wall Events delivered an event that reflected the changes in the industry over the previous twelve months in under two hours. Guests left with a clear insight into their industry, while also being inspired or challenged about their own creativity.
The Results
The event has gone from one that was struggling to keep up with the pace of the industry to being the premier night in Australasia and now incorporates other, previously competitive award nights. Sponsorship now involves the entire industry and the event has become a sell-out event.
